Terms of use

These terms cover our websites and the free AssetGuard checker.

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use nevariontechnologies.com, nevarionlabs.com and the free AssetGuard checker at nevarionlabs.com/assetguard/checker. They are provided by Nevarion Technologies Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 16935174, registered office Suite 10349, 5 Brayford Square, London, E1 0SG.

By using the sites or the checker you agree to these terms. The AssetGuard Shopify app has its own terms of service. How we handle personal data is set out in the privacy policy.

2. Using the checker

The checker fetches a Shopify store’s public pages and reports links and images that don’t work. Only check a store that you own or that you have permission to check.

The checker is free and has limits to protect it and the stores it visits:

  • each visitor can run up to 3 scans every 10 minutes and 10 scans a day;
  • the same store can be scanned once every 2 minutes;
  • only a few scans run at the same time, so you may be asked to try again later;
  • each scan covers a limited number of pages and links and stops after a fixed time.

We may change these limits, or pause the checker, at any time.

3. What you must not do

You must not use the sites or the checker to:

  • scan sites you don’t own or aren’t authorised to scan;
  • get around the rate limits, for example by spreading requests across many addresses or tools;
  • send automated or bulk requests, or put a load on any site that its owner hasn’t agreed to;
  • reach private, internal or non-public addresses, or probe for weaknesses;
  • interfere with the sites, the checker or the systems they run on;
  • break the law or anyone else’s rights.

We may block access from anyone who does any of these things.

4. What the results mean

The checker sees only what any visitor can see: public pages, and the links and images on them. It doesn’t sign in, so it can’t check password-protected stores, customer account pages, the cart or checkout. It follows each store’s robots.txt and stops at its page, link and time limits, so a scan can leave parts of a store unchecked.

A link can also look broken because the other site was slow, down for a moment or refused automated requests. Treat results as a starting point to check, not as a complete or final report.

5. No guarantee

The sites and the checker are provided free and as they are. We don’t promise that they will always be available, free of errors, or that results will be complete or accurate. This doesn’t affect any rights you have by law that can’t be excluded.

6. Our liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the sites or the checker, or from relying on their content or results. That includes loss of profit, revenue, data or business.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

7. Intellectual property

The sites, their text, design and code, the checker and the names Nevarion and AssetGuard belong to Nevarion Technologies Ltd or our licensors. You may view the sites and use the checker for your own purposes. You may not copy, republish or reuse them, or build a service on top of the checker, without our written permission. Shopify is a trademark of Shopify Inc.; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by Shopify.

The sites link to other websites, such as the Shopify App Store. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. The version on this page when you use the sites or the checker is the one that applies.

10. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom or in the European Union, you can also bring proceedings in the courts where you live, and you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of that country.
